 Job Title: Senior Core Banking Software Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Purpose

  • The Senior Core Banking Software Engineer (Temenos Transact) will be responsible for designing, developing, customising, and supporting Temenos Transact (T24) Core Banking solutions and related integrations, while providing technical leadership to developers and stakeholders.
  • The role will ensure that software solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with enterprise architecture, quality, security, and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, customise, and maintain Temenos Transact (T24) applications in line with approved functional and technical specifications and project timelines.
  • Support the Lead Enterprise Software Engineer in preparing detailed technical specifications and solution designs.
  • Provide technical support for production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes to ensure the stability and availability of the Core Banking platform.
  • Design, develop, test, and support integrations between Temenos and internal/external systems using OFS, APIs, REST/SOAP web services, middleware, and messaging technologies.
  • Configure Temenos modules, products, workflows, and business rules in accordance with business, operational, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, development optimisation, and engineering efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct technical research on emerging technologies, industry trends, and Temenos platform capabilities, and recommend relevant improvements.
  • Perform fault isolation, troubleshooting, and resolution of application, integration, and batch processing issues within agreed service levels.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers through coaching, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure development, test, and deployment environments remain stable, and escalate infrastructure or platform issues promptly.
  • Participate in solution testing, defect resolution, release validation, and post-implementation support activities.
  • Attend Agile ceremonies, stand-ups, planning sessions, and project reviews, providing accurate progress updates and risk assessments.
  • Prepare and present technical status reports, implementation updates, and support metrics to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards, coding standards, change management processes, and Temenos best practices.

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on software engineering experience with enterprise applications.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in Temenos Transact (T24) development and support within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Temenos Transact (T24) development using InfoBasic, TAFJ/TAFC, Temenos development frameworks, and associated tools.
  • Temenos application customisation, local development, enquiries, versions, routines, and batch processing.
  • Integration development using OFS, REST APIs, SOAP web services, messaging technologies, and middleware platforms.
  • Software development using one or more of Java, .NET, JavaScript, or related enterprise technologies.
  • Application support, troubleshooting, performance analysis, and root cause investigation in production environments.
  • System testing, defect management, release validation, and quality assurance practices.
  • Database concepts, data analysis, and reporting to support operational and business decision making.
  • Software engineering practices including version control, secure coding, code review, documentation, and Agile delivery methods.

Leadership Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating a team of developers or technical resources to deliver projects and support outcomes.

Preferred Skills:

  • Temenos Integration Framework (TIF)
  • Temenos DataSource / Data Hub exposure
  • Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting
  • SQL and database administration concepts
  • CI/CD and DevOps tooling

Certification:

  • Temenos Transact technical certification(s) – preferred.
  • Relevant cloud, integration, or software engineering certifications – an added advantage.
